The cheerleaders assisted the North County Fire Protection District, with preparations for their NC Fire 9-11 Memorial Hike to remember the hero’s of 9-11 and help raise funds for their survivors. The cheerleaders assembled 343 buttons with each firefighter’s name and photo to a button that stated “Very Important Person” for each hiker to wear in honor of that firefighter. They made signs that represent the floors of the Twin Towers and they made National School Spirit Day posters for their campus. The cheerleaders handed buttons for students and staff to wear on 9-9-11 in honor of NSSD and remembering events of 9-11. On 9-11-11, the cheerleaders handed out balloons, water, t-shirts, and held signs along the trail that represent the floors of the Twin Towers as they cheered on the hikers during the hike to the top of the mountain.
